Amy Butler is taking over my life!

Over dramatic? Nahhhh..... She's everywhere!

I cut some extra squares when I was making this last quilt so today I decided to cut a few more. There's about four different Amy Butler ranges mixed together.

These were some of the older ranges that I didn't want to cut up. They'll get some chunky sashing and borders. I'm going to end up with quite a few AB quilts at this rate. I love the green floral, middle row, second from the bottom. I wish I had more!

I still have lots of decent sized scraps so I don't think I'm Butler'd out just yet
:o)

I would have got some actual sewing done but my extremely exspensive and high quality iron decided to die...okay so it cost ten bucks from Kmart several years ago...still frustrating when it interrupts the creative flow. I guess I'm going iron shopping in the next few days. Does anyone have a brand and model that they can recommend?

A Dinosaur made me a Name Tag!

Check out what the Beccasauras made me!!!
A fabulous name tage for Sew It Together.
She might not actually be a dinosaur but she can sew and that's good enough for me.
You did a wonderful job Bec and I love it.
Thank you :o)

Abbe

Imagine if she really was a dinosaur....

The 'F' word

F is for finish...okay so the top is finished but I've also joined the back so I'm well on the way there. I love how this top has turned out. The Midwest Modern fabrics looks really fresh teamed with the off-white muslin.

I trawled through the stash and found a nice big piece of funky pink MM for the backing.
It's like it was meant to be :o)

And this baby?
This is the backing for the Purple Wonder.
I'm going to piece it over the weekend. I'm undecided about adding blocks to the backing, I'll have a bit of a play and see what looks best. Hopefully I can start quilting it over the coming week.

This is what has been happening in the garden.
Lots of tomatoes and a lovely big pumpkin. It's a 'Turks Turban' which is an heirloom variety I grew from seed that I bought at Diggers in Blackwood.
I think I'll be making some pumpkiney things over the next few weeks as there's another this size and then I have several other varieties nearing their harvest time.

F is also for Fabulous Friday. It was a stunning day so I made sure I enjoyed it.
Time in the garden, time at the sewing machine and now time for a chick flick and chocolate.
A well rounded day.

Sew well,

A Midwest Modern Cat

Today was a day of productivity. Sort of.
Someone is rather keen on helping....

Say CHEESE!

This is what Annabell was helping me make. I have finally cut into my Midwest Modern fat quarters. I have real trouble chopping into fabric sometimes. I don't know if it's fear of stuffing it up or just that obsessive need to have huge piles of yummy fabric to unfold, pat, move around and re-fold.

Does anyone else have rotary cutter anxiety?

I am working from one of those special patterns (one in my head) and thought it would be a baby quilt but I was enjoying it so much that I have cut a another big pile of rectangles.
I guess it's going to be another lap quilt....

I'm huntin wabbits!

Happy Easter to all. I hope everyone celebrates in their favourite way.
My favourite way is CHOCOLATE! I came home to discover all sorts of surprises yesterday that included a bunny under my pillow and an egg in my bed sock.
I went to take a photo of my Easter gift this morning and discovered another bunny hiding in my camera case. I think there could be more so I'm huntin wabbits!!!
Just found another one in my running shoe....

This is my fabulous gift. No mistaking who cooks here now.
I love it, especially since it's handmade by Mr CP.

Please don't think me extravagant or prissy about mud but I did go out an buy new runners. I promise it's coincidental. I finally had a chance to get to a Rebel Sport and they had the next model of the old shoes on sale. I'll try and avoid the mud puddles with these pristine ones.

Time for some sewing. I need to get my S.I.T name tag done, as well as April's 1st Wed Block Swap. I still haven't decided on backing for the Purple Wonder so that's on stand-by for now. To the sewing room.....
